Hey Justine,
I miss you so much! I’m so sorry this happened to you, but I know your one of the strongest people I have ever met! You will beat it and then you will be playing soccer constantly once it is all over. LOL You are literally one of the nicest, happiest, and funny friends I have in the world. You have no idea how hard it is to come by a really good friend for me, who is just so sweet from the start! And you definitely are. Like I said, I miss you; and I will be visiting you as soon as I can. Text me or message me on myspace whenever you want, I would love to talk. I will see ya soon!

Hi Justine,
We all hope you get to feeling better really soon. Tiana and I posted a beautiful picture of you at some Saugus stores and businesses today. We put information regarding your blood drive date and your website on the flyer. Hope you don’t mind being made famous!
We are all thinking of you and know that you are going to get through this and we can’t wait to see you kicking around a soccer ball again!

Also, let your parents know that I contacted the Signal Newspaper to see if they will run a story about you and your blood drive date. The editor Lila said they would. Let us know if you or your parents need anything from us.

Love from the Savaikie family

Hi Justine,

You don’t know me and I don’t know you. To be honest, I barely know your dad. I used to play softball with him a while back on Friday nights. I was included on an email sent out by your dad and one of his friends. I’m proud to say that I scheduled and appointment to give blood on Wednesday, April 22. I’m very sorry to hear about your situation and hope for a speedy and successful recovery. Can you tell me a little more about yourself? Age, what school you go to (my wife is a 4th grade teacher), etc… Get better soon!

Sincerely,
Kevin Herrback

Hi Justine,

Happy Easter! I know you’d rather be out at the park with us, then in your hospital room, but just know that we are all thinking of you…

I heard you got really sick after we left last week…I’ll just blame your nausea on Ninong Nic’s corny jokes! I know they make me sick sometimes!! LOL :)

We want to visit you again soon, but will wait till the kids are over their runny noses…they really want to see you and show you their new haircut (or lack of hair)!!

Hugs,

Ninang Flo

p.s. Tell your mom to call me…I keep getting her voicemail! Give her a hug from me too…

Hi Justine (and Justine’s family)
My name is Kari Dauer-hewitt, and I am just another mom in the community. My daughter Sarah is in 8th grade at Seco, and probably knows you. Anyway, our church is sponsoring a team for the American Cancer Society Relay For Life May 30 & 31st. (Our team wants to help defeat Childhood cancer.) If you are feeling up to it, we would love to meet you, and learn how we can help you and your family. I am really interested in getting your thoughts about the whole process of being diagnosed and treated for your type of Leukemia.

You sound like a remarkable girl, and I think your positive attitude is astounding!

Prayers & blessings,
Kari

Hi Kari
It’s amazing that there’s a lot of people supporting finding treatments for cancer. I’m presently trying to rebuild my immune system. Maybe we can meet after I’m all better, would that be too late for you?
Thank you for your support. My attitude right now is to be grateful for all the support everyone’s giving me and my family.

Hi Justine,
I just wanted you to know that you and your family have been on our hearts and we have been praying for you. Being diagnosed with leukemia has been a difficult thing for you to digest but when we read your emails and here your dad talk about your attitude we are amazed. It is during times like this that you realize what is really important in life. Your family, friends and your relationship with the Lord. We just pray that you will feel loved and supported by them and now our whole valley as we stand around you and try to support you and your family during this time. Please know that we would be there to visit you in a heart beat and when the time comes and you are able to take visitors we will come but in the meantime just know that our hearts and prayers are with you and we will support you in the trenches at the Blood Drive and any other area we can. There is a Christian artist that we like that wrote a song called “His strength is perfect” and there is a line in is that says “Lord, I am not asking you to take away these trials, but it is through these trials that I learn to love you more”. Philippians 4:13 says “I can do all things through Him who strengthens me”. Embrace these promises and realize that the Lord is working and right next to you during these times. We love you Justine. Hello Justine

You are an amazing strong young girl that is full of hope and dreams. Do know that many people are supporting you and love you and know that you are not alone. Keep up that great spirit and strength of yours and never give up, no matter how tuff it may be!!
You can do it!! Just remember your sport- how you fought on those soccer fields.. it didn’t matter if you were injured, limping, bleeding, on a brace, you fought for what you wanted and always very optimistic. We are here for you and look forward to a visit once you feel better.

God Bless You,

Crystal, Alex, Anabelle, Sandra and Jose Esquivel :)

Hi Justine,
I know we have never met, but I know your dad. He plays softball with my husband Cory and he is also my step-daughter Cayla’s batting coach. You may have had a chance to look at my nephew’s website, Evan. He is also fighting leukemia right now and is usually at UCLA medical center. I come from a large family and we have all been very involved with Evan’s fight. We are a big sponsor of the “Light the Night” walk, “Team Evan.” We will be there again this year and hopefully we can partner up with you and your team (if you don’t have a team yet, please let me know and we will get one started for you).
I hear you are an amazing soccer player. I too played soccer growing up (I think it added up to 16 years). I love the sport and still would love to coach someday. I was hoping to coach my step-daughter, but she decided to take up softball and volleyball (not really my area of expertise) :) LOL! When Cory and I have kids of our own I will be getting them into soccer and hopefully coaching them. When you are better and back on the field I would love to come watch you play.
I will be at Children’s Hospital on May 2nd donating platelets. I will get in touch with your dad and if you will be there then I will come by and say hello.
My thoughts and prayers are with you!
Sincerely,
Jamie
